Update 04 - The Truth Revealed by Playtesting
Turns out my game is a little bit of a pain in the butt! So I decided to make things less painful.
In addition, I added some stuff I thought was neat, got rid of stuff I thought was lacking, and added VAMPIRES. Neat!
Balancing
- Changed "Intoxicated" to be -1 penalties, a la "Fatigued".
- Removed half-vision penalty for players. It now only denotes when a photosensitive enemy is receiving a penalty to its attacks or not.
- Grievous now allows you to ignore physical AG with a 3 AP attack, instead of doing so based on whether or not your STR/LGR is over the active result
- Shotguns now have "Scatter" quality, meaning their listed range is now their maximum, while their ideal range is Close.
- Made reloading weapons 1 AP
- Removed "extra length" rule; ranged weapons now only hit up to their listed range.
- Re-worked "Hand Pistol" into Pocket Pistol, now simply a weak one-shot gun.
- Many weapons no longer have "grievous" quality.
- Buffed Repeating Crossbow's damage to 8/6.
- Twinbarrel is no longer unwieldy.
- Sedative now has a clearer method of use on others.
- Added "Photosensitive" aspect to Hellhound, Werewolf (Stage 3) and Basilisk.
Additions & Retractions
- Removed "Courser" and "Trooper" aspects.
- Added "Commando" aspect.
- Added "Ravager" aspect.
- Added "Vampiric Legacy" aspect.
- Added "Resurrectionist" aspect & "Zombie" actor statblock.
- Replaced Powder Keg with Hand Grenade
- Removed Saddle (horses are now just assumed to have saddles, no need to carry one)
- Added Iron Knuckles
- Added "Lampblack Wings" morph weapon
- Added VAMPIRE enemy family
- Added more bookmarks. No need to be stingy.
Other changes include rewriting the basic rules so things like what enemies do on an Ace are made more clear, and simplifying how omens work. Face/Ace cards are more concretely described as being able to only banish as omens, and count as auto successes when used out of battle. Also, changing "Animosity" to "Madness". It's just a better word.
Also picked up a bunch of minor errata. A lot to list.
